How to Install and Run Google Assistant on your iPhone

Google Assistant is a well known digital assistant that works with voice recognition and behavior change. Earlier it was only used on google based devices but of late we have seen Google expand their horizons to reach to the great iOS devices. You now do not have to jailbreak your device to have the assistant.Apple devices have been using their assistant Siri which works well too, but the question is whats the need of the two digital assistants on the same phone? Likewise as we had seen earlier, Samsung came up with their new digital assistant Bixby, and still one would access google assistant on the same phone. This seem to be a new trend that every phone manufacturer seem not to be left. However most of these assistants do not perform tasks fully hence the need of another assistant. For instance, Siri has the flexibility for searching anything across the web but also limited to how you can optimize your phone to do various tasks for you. Google assistant on the other hand is more compatible with other devices and comes connected with great apps which is a greater advantage.

Once the installation is done, you can simply open the app and access its features. For those who have the latest iOS version, you can also install Google Assistant’s widgets. You can set them to appear just as a pull-down menu or on the left of your app drawer.

When you open the app for the first time, it is obvious you will have to login with your google account. After this, it will ask you to give it permission to access certain information on your iPhone, apps and web.On this part just select YES I’M IN on the bottom right of your iPhone so that you can fully enjoy google assistant. If you want to opt in or opt out receiving emails about new updates for Google assistant you’ll be prompted to choose but by leaving it in default it means you fully agree to receive the emails. Tap next and you’ll have completed all the setup work and ready to use Google Assistant.

However, one demerit for the assistant is that, unlike in Android devices, saying “Okay Google” will not trigger the launch of the Google assistant. Apple have firmly enhanced Siri to take the first priority and it is very unlikely for that to change.
